Student Advisory Council

The BiblioTech Student Advisory Council consists of student representatives from high schools across Bexar County. The council serves as a safe space for student voice, perspectives, suggestions and creative ideas for BiblioTech Library. Membership benefits include resume worthy experience, exposure to county government and professional speakers, networking opportunities, development of leadership, collaboration and communication skills, as well as social media experience.

Audrey Samora

Senior, Young Women’s Leadership Academy – SAISD, Term 2023-2026

Audrey Samora is a senior at the Young Women’s Leadership Academy in San Antonio, Texas, where she leads initiatives in youth advocacy, civic engagement, and public health. She has worked with Healthy Futures of Texas to advance menstrual equity, served on the Youth Do Vote board to connect young voters, and represented her district on the San Antonio Youth Commission. She is also a Voelcker Biomedical Research Scholar and pursued research about dementia concentration in South Texas.  Audrey is passionate about using creativity and policy to bridge inequities and expand opportunity for underserved communities.

Danika Maddox

Senior, Fox Tech HS – SAISD, Term 2023-2026

Danika Maddox was born in Del Rio, Texas, but she calls San Antonio her home and looks forward to finishing her high school education at Fox Tech, as well as her bachelor’s degree through San Antonio College, before pursuing law school. She is highly academically focused, participating in many clubs and always looking for opportunities to help. Danika plans on eventually becoming a representative in the SkillsUSA and YMCA Youth & Government organizations. At the end of her school career, she plans to graduate with a JSD, Doctor of Juridical Science. In her spare time, Danika enjoys listening to music, cherishes time outdoors, is passionate about cooking for those near and dear, and even dabbles in the arts through playing the violin and painting. The most important thing to her is developing a community that pushes society forward, recognizing that having opposing views is crucial and that our world is nowhere near as black and white as we may assume at times. She is honored to serve the county and looks forward to participating on the BiblioTech Student Advisory Board.

Jazelle Puente

Senior, Young Women’s Leadership Academy – SAISD, Term 2023-2026

Jazelle Puente is a senior at the Young Women’s Leadership Academy. She was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, and is a diehard Spurs fan. She hopes to attend Harvard Law School one day. She is very interested in the legal field and desires to pursue a career as a lawyer, judge, or politician. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, trying new things, reading, watching her current favorite show, volunteering to help her local community, and participating in sports. Her ambition, curiosity, and dedication to service drive her to make a lasting impact in both her community and future profession. Jazelle is excited to embrace the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

Jocelyn Camacho-Hernandez

Junior, John Paul Stevens High School/CAST Teach High School, Term 2025-2027

Jocelyn participates in many leadership activities in her community, such as being one of two CAST Teach Student Ambassadors represented in NISD, volunteering at her high school library through her magnet schools’ internships, as well as being a proud member of NHS. She has been dreaming of working as a librarian since her middle school years, and that dream hasn’t wavered one bit in the past few years of her high school career. In her free time, she often reads, watches her younger siblings, or roller skates. Jocelyn hopes to attend either UNC Chapel Hill, Syracuse University, or UT Austin to gain her master’s degree in library science.

Miguel Nunez

Senior, STEM Early College HS – Harlandale ISD, Term 2025-2027

Miguel Nunez is a senior at STEM Early College High school within the Harlandale district and a dual-enrollment student at Texas A&M University San Antonio. He is a passionate student leader with a heart for art history and museum management, and a vision for a future in education policy. Miguel serves as Class President, NHS President, GSA President, and as a Teen Art Guide at the McNay Art Museum. He is also a recipient of the Young Pegasus Poetry Award from the San Antonio Public Library and an active member of his school’s gardening club and book club. As a member of the BiblioTech Student Advisory Council, he hopes to help expand BiblioTech’s reach and resources to teens across Bexar County. In his free time, you can find him reading or writing poetry, watching TV or YouTube, and discovering new music.

Tabitha De La Rosa

Senior, STEM Early College High School – Harlandale, Term 2024-2026

Tabitha De La Rosa is a driven senior at STEM Early College High School, where she is taking early college courses at Texas A&M University–San Antonio toward a Bachelor of Business Management. She is deeply committed to pursuing a career in project management within the non-profit sector, where she hopes to lead impactful initiatives that empower and uplift young people. At school, she is a member of the National Honor Society, and has served as a Class Officer for four consecutive years—Secretary during her freshman and sophomore years and Event Coordinator as a junior and current senior. She is Head of Photography for the Yearbook, contributing as a photographer, writer, and editor, and also serves as Vice President of the Book Club. Beyond the classroom, Tabitha is involved in Young Achievers, Keystone, and was part of the Youth of the Year program through the Boys and Girls Club of America. She is a Girls for Books Ambassador and is involved with Students of Service. She serves on the UP Leaders of Tomorrow Intergenerational Advisory Board, has served as the Youth Policy and Engagement Intern at UP Partnership, and is a former member of the District 3 Legacy Leadership Initiative. Her accomplishments include being named a San Antonio Youth of the Year Finalist and receiving the prestigious Elizabeth De La Rosa Outstanding Participant Award from the Boys and Girls Club of America. Volunteer service includes being a Club Assistant at the Collins Garden Library and as a Vacation Bible School volunteer. Passionate about youth advocacy and community engagement, Tabitha is proud to serve on the BiblioTech Student Advisory Council. In her free time, she enjoys watching films and reading literary fiction and coming-of-age stories.

Xavier Leija

Senior, STEM Early College High School – Harlandale, Term 2025-2027

Xavier Leija is a dedicated senior at STEM Early College High School, where he exemplifies leadership through consistent community engagement and service. Actively involved in outreach initiatives such as Students of Service, Xavier is passionate about making a positive impact beyond the classroom. He aspires to pursue a career in engineering and is taking dual credit courses at Texas A&M University–San Antonio to prepare for that path. At STEM ECHS, Xavier has demonstrated his commitment to excellence by serving as a Class Officer for four consecutive years, holding both President and Vice President roles. He is also an active member of the National Honor Society, where he currently serves as Sergeant at Arms, helping to maintain order and support the chapter’s initiatives. Outside of academics, he practices martial arts and enjoys reading across a wide range of genres, from nonfiction to poetry. Xavier is honored to join the BiblioTech Student Advisory Council and looks forward to contributing meaningfully to its mission.

Parking Information – BiblioTech Central Jury

Garage Parking

Bexar County provides discounted parking for jurors. With a validated ticket, parking is $3 per day. To receive the discount, present your parking ticket at the Central Jury Room administration windows. Note: Do not present tickets at the BiblioTech booth.
